Fettucini How to set it up

Keeping it simple for very tired parents.

Log your baby's feeds, nappies and sleep with one tap, or tap Talk and say what happened. Both parents share one log.

Free, for Android phones in Chrome.

How it works

  • One tap

Tap Feed, Wet, Dirty or Asleep. Wrong one? Tap Undo.

  • Or just say it

Tap Talk and say “90 ml of formula at 3, and a wet nappy”. It logs both, with the time and amount.

  • Two phones, one log

Both parents see every entry, so nobody has to ask at 3am.

  • See it at a glance

The top of the screen shows how long since the last feed and nappy, and whether they're asleep.

Dim at night

From 8pm to 7am the screen turns amber on dark, so it's gentle in a dark room.

Good to know

Free, and kept in your Drive

Your log is a Google Sheet and a folder in your own Google Drive. There's no Fettucini server and no Fettucini account.

Every voice note is kept

It saves to the phone first, so no signal is fine, then to your Drive. If a word is misheard, play it back and fix it.

Voice uses Google's Gemini

What you say or type goes to Gemini to be turned into entries. On Gemini's free tier, Google may use it to improve its products. Turn on billing for your key and Google won't, for roughly $1 a month at 30 short notes a day.

A vitamin D reminder

From 9pm it shows if vitamin D drops are due, following NHS guidance. It's a reminder, not medical advice, so ask your health visitor if you're unsure.

Set it up

One parent sets it up, then invites the other. You each need an Android phone with Chrome and a Google account.

Just want a look? Open it. Until you connect Google, it saves only to that phone.

  1. Open Fettucini in Chrome.

    Open Fettucini

If this page opened inside WhatsApp or another app, open it in Chrome first, from that app's menu.

  2. Tap the settings icon, then Connect with Google. Google will say it hasn't verified the app: tap Advanced, then the Go to link, then Allow.

It's a personal app nobody has sent to Google for review. It asks for all of your Drive so the other parent's phone can open your log, but only touches its own Sheet and folder.

  3. Tap Start a new log and add the baby's name.

  4. For voice, get a free key at aistudio.google.com/apikey. In Settings, paste it under Gemini key and tap Save key.

You only do this once, on one phone.

  5. In Chrome's menu, tap Add to Home screen, then Install. Open it, tap Talk once and allow the microphone.

The other parent

In Settings on your phone, enter their Google email under Invite the other parent. They do steps 1, 2 and 5, and land in the same log.
